No sleep option and PC won't wake from hibernation

Ever since I installed a new motherboard (B85M - DS3H - A) and a processor (i5 - 4460) my PC doesn't have the sleep option and when it goes to hibernation for more than 15 mins it never wakes up and I have to restart the thing in order to use it again. I never had this issue with my previous build. I am using a Sapphire R9 270x Dual-X 2Gb DDR5 GPU and I installed the latest drivers for it. I checked the power options and there actually was no sleep option in there. I also installed 6Gb more RAM making the total RAM 14Gb. Those are all the changes I made. Any help to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

In a frantic frenzy to see this post I accidentally clicked "Select as best answer" and I don't know how to deselect it now. Yes, I do have Windows 7 but I don't get any windows matching the screenshots in that link. Let me post the screenshots of what I see in the next reply.

and here's the driver I installed which is the latest on the Sapphire website:

Here's one of the advanced settings for the power options:

Fact is I don't want my system to stay on forever as I fall asleep while working sometimes and the sleep mode was really helpful for me. I want to use the sleep mode and not disable it forever.

What happens when you select the balanced plan. Then go into plan settings. Then advanced settings. Try these steps if it doesn't work...

Open control panel and goto Power Options > change Plan settings > Advanced Power Settings
+Sleep
Allow hybrid Sleep > disabled
Allow wake timers > disable/enable try both settings
+USB
USB selective suspend > ENABLE
+When Shareing media [ This is the critical one ]

Set to allow the computer to sleep

Also, are you absolutely certain that you have the latest video driver installed? Did it install the AMD Catalyst Control Center?
Because I just found this...

I have always had the balanced plan on but just showed you the high performance ones after watching that page you linked me.

Here are all the options I get on opening advanced settings for the balanced power option:

Yes, I do have the Catalyst Control Center installed and I am pretty sure I am using the latest version from the sapphire website as I was using the same one before I upgraded my system and had no problems in going to sleep or waking up the computer. Although I just checked for an update and it shows one but I don't feel like it's a significant one as it's not been showing up on the sapphire website and I doubt my sapphire gpu will be compatible with the drivers from the AMD website as I have tried it before with really bad results. Here is a screenshot of the version mentioned in the Catalyst Control Center window:

I'll just put my whole configuration here:

MoBo - B85M-DS3H-A

Processor - i5 4460 @ 3.2gHz

RAM - G.Skill RipjawsX DDR3 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) PC DRAM (F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL) and a 4gB Transcend and 2gB Kingston

Memory - Samsung 120 GB 2.5 inch 840 EVO SATA III SSD, a WD 7200rpm 1Tb HDD and a Seagate 5400rpm 160gB HDD

PSU - CORSAIR CMPSU-600CXV2UK 600 Watts

Hope this info helps.

Oh so do you mean the previous driver? The one that other users are having an issue with? THIS ONE - https://community.amd.com/thread/185345 ?

I don't really understand why you would think that having the latest driver wouldn't matter but I would highly recommend that you update it. Be sure to uninstall the old one first. Also, all of those settings on the left side of the AMD CCC look like they would be worth digging through.

OMG I hate AMD LOL...sorry dude

Haha I was just worried about the latest driver not being compatible with my sapphire card but it seems it won't be a problem as it says so here. http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1776285/amd-driver-sapphire-card.html

Well it's downloading as I type this reply. Let me see if it makes any difference.

OK Please be sure to uninstall the old drivers and the AMD CCC first then, reboot, THEN install the new ones, reboot again

BTW, since this recent install (please tell me which edition of Windows 7,) have you gone into the windows control panel>windows update>and forced Windows to check for its own updates? Sorry but this potential solution should have occurred to me sooner. These updates take FOREVER. You need to click "check for updates" even if Windows says it is up to date. Install the updates, reboot and repeat over and over until it finally says its up to date after a few tries. We call this "pushing system updates" bc sadly, we have to push Windows to keep itself up to date. They take a long time to download and install on a clean Windows installation.
