I'm planning to buy a new computer with a small 32 GB SSD and a 1 TB HDD. My friend's computer has the same setup and his OS is on his SSD while everything else is on the HDD. He recieved it that way but I'm going to build a computer myself so I have to do that manually. Is there an easy way to do this? I mean without having to edit the registry to move every folder except windows in the C drive away.

You can't GUARANTEE that nothing else will be installed on C: You can manually choose where to install things but that doesn't prevent use of C: .
You can point your libraries to other locations and move the TEMP and TMP environment variables to minimize the use of C: But windows updates, and other things will continue to use C:. Your best bet is to buy a reasonable sized disk and be vigilant.

That's not an answer to my question. Even if I did get a larger SSD, it wouldn't be enough. I use a lot of mermory for programs, games and personal files. It wouldn't be enough for that. I'm really looking for a way to only have the OS on the SSD. It works fine at my friend's laptop, so it should be possible.

I think I'm going to wait for a better answer, since that's exactly what I don't want to do. There is a way, I just need to find it. Anyways, still thanks for trying to help me out.
