I have a Compaq Presario, DT, Model CQ5210f - I want to install eventually a SSD. I'm trying to figure out how to get the case open without breading the front plastic!! Can some kind soul help! Tks, David
After looking at the case from pictures I've found online, the right side of the case if you are looking at the front, is the side that opens, unscrew it from the back of the computer and it should open.

There are probably a set of screws attached to the back of the case that are along the back edges that hold the cover in place (don't remove screws holding the power supply). You most likely need to remove these screws, and slide the case, or side of the case to the back of the computer, and it should come off.
Might have screws behind the front panel, if you look under the computer, if their is a hatch at the bottom of the front of the computer, try to pull it loose. Be careful not to break the plastic flaps.

You may want to install an SSD but your BIOS must support it (that is a problem only for older computers). For example I had a core 2 duo desktop and the BIOS for that motherboard (even the latest version) only supported HDD's. So keep in mind this.
Tks for the great tip! I checked with HP and yes it does support SSD - I appreciate your help - DN
