Hi, I need advice hopefully from people who have/had same specs.
Currently, my PC specs are these:
-Asus R7 260x 2GB OC
-A10 5800k 3.8GHz (Waiting for my 212 Evo to OC)
I think no other specs need to be mentioned, but oh well:
ASRocK FM2A88x+BTC
8GB Ram (Hyper X Fury 4GBx2)
650w PSU (No idea which brand though, and i know it's important..)
1080p Monitor (Note that I'm interested in 1080p gaming)
It's time to upgrade in order to keep up with the new, demanding games like The Witcher 3.
After countless hours of research I decided I'll be getting the R9 390 MSI Gaming GPU. I'm well aware this is a beast card and needs a beast CPU to handle it. So, a CPU upgrade (I've got my eyes on i5 4690k) will be absolutely necessary if I want to do serious gaming, which is what I want. Now, upgrading my CPU will require a new Motherboard as well. (My current socket is FM2+) Derp..
I worked my ass off this summer and I can actually afford all of these, HOWEVER: There aren't really any upcoming games that I look forward to play this year, so what I've been meaning to ask all along is.. would it be wise to just get the GPU for now and the CPU+Motherboard combo later this year, when the prices might drop? Will I be able to play The Witcher 3 at least at 45 FPS? (Currently with my 260x I get 30-40 average) Or is R9 390 + A10 5800k such a terrible duo that I'm gonna be wishing I had sticked with my 260x for another year?
I apologize for any grammatical errors, English is not my native language as I come from Greece. Any help or opinions on the matter are highly appreciated.
