Hello everyone I have a few questions. Currently I am running a 4790k w/sli msi 970's. They run great and I have no problems except one. I CANT STOP UP GRADING!!!! But anyway would I see any real gains from moving up to sli 980 ti's and if so will my cpu bottleneck my new gpu's. And please I dont want to here the guys that are like "meh that is overkill" yes i will be overclocking them and all that fun stuff but i haven't really seen any sli 970 vs 980 ti benchmarks that can show me what im asking. Thank you in advance.

Depends on your resolution honestly. If you're running a 4K display then yeah, it'd definitely be an upgrade worth having. 980Ti SLI would run most titles at high settings with low AA at 50-60fps. The 4790K would handle them fine, and any potential upgrade wouldn't yield the performance difference warranting the price of the cpu + mobo swap.

If you went with three 980 Ti's or more then a 5820K would be an excellent choice.
