Samsung 850 evo in Lenovo z500

I am wondering if this ssd would fit in my laptop, the lenovo z500. I want to get the samsung 850 evo. Also does this come with a sata to usb cable?

Generally it should work. Although I've read about some incompatibility issues between that laptop and a previous model of the SSD. That doesn't necessarily mean that it won't work with the one you are suggesting, plus a firmware update has probably fixed that already. If I were you, I'd contact the laptop manufacturer's customer support and ask about the maximum capacity SSD that it supports and if it's compatible with the one you're considering.

Yes it will fit physically. The drives offered in that laptop are SATA 2.5" HDD's. Most SSD's are either SATA 1.8" or SATA 2.5". The 850 evo is a SATA 1.8".
I have yet to come across a laptop that I cannot use an SSD in... so chances are good that you will be able to use with no problems.

And no, there is no adapter with the 850 evo. It comes only with the drive and a ring that sticks to it to make it a 2.5" drive if you need it to... that's it.

Hi ishdafish, I just did this last week. I replaced my 500 Gb hard drive with a Samsung 850 EVO in my Lenovo Z500 Touch. It works perfectly. It is lightning quick! I had a local computer shop do it since I didn't have the time, so I don't know about the cables.
