Just like the title says. If its bottlenecking my system by a significant amount, what should I get as an upgrade? my specs are:

RAM: 2x8GB HyperX Fury DDR3 1866MHz,
CPU: intel i5 4690k
GPU: msi GTX 970 100 million edition
Hard Drive: WD 1TB 3.5 inch SATA 6Gb/s 7200 RPM
PSU: Sentey 725 Watt Xpp-725-hs
OS: SteamOS/ Windows 10 (soon)

Solution
the only things your motherboard can bottleneck are your RAM speeds as the highest speed it supports is 1600Mhz. Also, it uses PCIE 2.0 rather PCIE 3.0. Most say the difference between pci 2 and 3 is negligible but it does make a difference. Your CPU isn't causing a bottleneck. Whether or not its significant is up to you, if you want maximum performance then upgrade as RAM to be honest should be running at minimum 1600. Plus PCI 3.0 is always good to have for your GPU

thanks! what would you recommend for a cost efficient replacement for the motherboard and maybe a new case (I had to cut out the drive bay for my fancy gpu to fit :p) Also I prefer msi for my mobos because i like the bios

Preferably <75$ for mobo and <65$ for the case.

Motherboard: ASRock H97 PRO4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
MSI H97 PC Mate Desktop Motherboard - Intel H97 Express Chipset - Socket H3 LGA-1150
GIGABYTE GA-H97-D3H LGA 1150 Intel H97
I know the motherboards above are over your budget but I can't recommend anything cheaper.

In terms of cases, on a budget, these are good:
Rosewill Galaxy-02 - Black Gaming ATX Mid Tower
Rosewill CHALLENGER - Black Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Just make sure that whatever motherboard you go for is also ATX/micro-ATX
