A birthday is coming up and I'm a little lost on finding a tablet/kindle.

She wants to be able to read e-books while being mobile. I'm I right in thinking you can access all of Kindle e-books (for the same price) on an Android tablet (through the Kindle app)? And on the tablet we'd be able to get the Google e-books then too.

If so I was wondering if we could just pickup an older tablet so we can stay in budget and keep the screen space high.

Any suggestions? Thanks for your help!

Used 8" HP Stream 8, Windows 8.1 tablet for $98. You can go to Amazon to download a Kindle app; it should also be available in the Microsoft App Store. And... a review. I would personally go with this tablet even though it is used and more than $90 because it uses Windows 8.1 which means it can run any program that is compatible with Windows 8.1 making it very versatile.

Well i think when it comes to reading or watching videos I am still stuck to nook,i have the nook hd but their seven inch version still is a good deal in terms of reading and it has great screen, you wont have basic features like camera or anything but as you mentioned it is going to be used for reading purposes, check it out.
