A few days ago I was playing some CS: GO on my PC when it completely shut off without warning. I was able to fix it by simply turning the power supply off and back on even though the computer was completely shut off already. However, just now I began to get an extremely strong smell of burnt rubber that hit me like a brick wall. One moment it was perfectly fine, the next I got a rudicoulisly strong smell. I immediately looked it up and found someone saying to immediately turn off the PC and check your power supply, which happened to be what was the fix, and therefore likely the cause, of what completely shut down my PC a few days ago. I have yet to actually be inside a PC yet, even though I know what parts go where, but I would rather not start PC building on my main PC for obvious reasons. Any ideas? Would it be okay to wait a little bit, turn it back on, and see if it's better?

BTW I'm not typing this on that PC, I did as the one guy said and immediately turned it off.

It couldn't be dust or anything? I definitely just straight up need a new PSU? I tried smelling some of my PC parts but didn't smell anything, I probably can't since its been off for a while
