Hello i need help making a beast future proof gaming and editing pc. I want it to be based around the 980ti unless thats not good. I would like it under 2k. One ssd and i have two hdds. Thanks and ddr4 and the new skylake or no ? Also i would like 2 or 3 monitors

Build what you want, today, that fits in your budget. (and that budget is ???)
6 months from now, there will be a whole new selection of parts.

That's like asking what airliner is inherently the safest. There's no such thing as future proof, only good enough for now or good enough for what you will do in a while.

Also, what editing? If you edit sound, anything is more than enough. If you edit CAD models of aircraft, it won't be good for games at all.

If you want to do all that "youtube livestream yey!" crap and have the rig last for 3 years until it's obsolete, i7 5960X with 64GB ram, two 1TB Samsung 850Pro in RAID 0 plus a 950 Pro, Two Titan X in SLI, and two 1440p 144Hz g-sync monitors. The whole thing will run you >$4000 and only be about 50% faster than a $1600 rig.
