I was just wondering if anyone could explain why the i5 6400 is clocked sooo low?? At 2.7 Ghz!?!!!? I had previously owned the i5 4460 and it was clocked higher. I want to make the move to skylake but that cpu is clocked very low.
So do you guys think i'll experience any slowdown from this cpu? I play a lot of Starcraft 2, very cpu intensive. Id think this is kind of a downgrade from a 4460 since it runs at 3.2ghz or are the individual cores in this cpu stronger?
_____________
Possibly, might consider the 6500 - also what DRAM are you running and what do you plan to run?
Kingston HyperX Fury 2133Mhz

if that's current would prob want to kick up to 2666 or so if going DDR4 - not thinking you're going to see much improvement performance wise
well i have not read anything about skylake, it's not always about the clock speed. at the same clock speed, current gen cpu against say a core2, then core2 will not be as fast as today's cpu
