Data recovery from missing OS

A fellow co-worker installed Linux OS in a computer which already had windows 7. Now I could not see any provision to access Windows OS or access any files that i stored in windows. This means that the files are permanently deleted? or Is there anyway I can recover those files by installing windows again?Pls help.

Depends on how they installed linux.

Can you post the output of running this command? It outputs the partition layout of all disks:

Unfortunately, it looks like they've deleted Windows from that drive - it's just CentOS on there now.

If you pull the drive and put it in another system, you may be able to recover some data, especially if not very much has been written to the drive. See here: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-1644496/lost-data-recovery.html
