Need to get the price down on my build.

My original budget for this build was about $1800 - $2000 AUD and I've gone over the max budget by about $400 AUD. I'm happy to pay an absolute max of $2200 and no more. I'll be buying all parts from one retailer and I chose CPL because they had the most amount of cheapest products through all of PartPickers merchants. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/TxD6WZ

Solution
scale back on ram (get plain ram) and ssd (120G of any brand for just an os is more than enough)
ditch the wireless card and run a cable for now

and, uh, if you're over budget then buy the other parts from someone other than CPL if the other guy is cheaper! or make CPL match their price since you're buying so much from them to begin with.

either / both! 1600 or 1866 is typically all that intel needs, but there's cheaper versions without fancy or weird heat spreaders. adata xpg v.1 and hyper-x are plain, as is gskill ares, and they're usually cheaper and go on sale regularly at least here in canada.

oh, you could also postpone the 212 Evo cooler if that helps. it's easy to simply buy it later on when you have extra cash on hand. simply delay your overclocking activities until you get it.

i wouldn't cheap out TOO much on the mouse & keyboard, since they are the things you are going to be touching and using ALL THE TIME. cheap out on (or skip for now) the cpu cooler, get less ram, a simpler case, postpone a HDD and use just an SSD at first. monitors will last for SEVERAL builds, so don't cheap out there. another option is going for non-overclocking gear, so non-k cpu and a good H-series board.

That's a good idea postponing the HDD purchase. What about dropping back to an MSI Gaming 3 or less? I don't know anything about this MB, so you'll have to research it yourself. What about this, then wait for a sale on some of the items.
