Hey guys, I'm having some issues since I updated the bios on my mobo... Since the update when I power on the PC it freezes on the splash screen for the bios menu... Press delete to enter bios setup. I can press it but there is no response.

On the motherboard the boot_device led is lit up.

Since this began I researched a bit and have done the following...

1. Tried to revert the bios but that option doesn't work.
2. CLRTC reset on board. No change.
3. Removed CMOS battery from the board. PC starts and shows F1 to set up the mobo. It reads that the bios has been updated to 1708 and when I hit F5 and load the defaults it runs normally, until it restarts or gets turned off then the problems resume.

It's been bitter sweet as the bios update seems to have fixed my blue screen errors but now I've this to deal with... I'd really appreciate any help that can be provided.

Thanks

Recommend to try use the "USB BIOS Flashback" method to update the BIOS again. Disconnect all the hardware, only connect the PSU to the MB with 24-pin and the 8-pin power cable. And download the BIOS into a FAT32 formatted USB, rename the file by Bios Renamer ( bios utility software) you can download it from asus https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M5A99X_EVO/HelpDesk_Download/
Also check the link for more info, even it is for the intel MB, but I think it should be same as AMD motherboard. http://rog.asus.com/technology/republic-of-gamers-motherboard-innovations/usb-bios-flashback/

If you still have problem, try the bios recovery http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/870-Bios-Recovery-Procedures

And if you still have problem, the last thing e-mail or call asus ask for help, they may send the BIOS chip to you or send the MB to them to change the bios chip for you.
