CPU: FX-8350
Ram: 8gb
Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212
Board: ASUS M5A97 R2.0

I've been reading a lot about it recently and i am following a guide very carefully and the last stable for me was 4.2ghz @ 1.32 voltage, at 4.4ghz i freeze a min into prime95 small ftp test and i tried it on 1.32, 1.35 and 1.37 the longest i lasted was about a min at 1.37 but i still froze.

Now my question is that it for me? at the last stable clock my CPU temp didn't go above 51 and i've done everything the guide stated in the bios settings except for setting DRAM to 1600mhz(mine is 1333mhz so i didn't wanna overclock it) so i am not really sure if i should stop or bump the voltage 1-3 points higher? i mean 1.37 should be enough for 4.4 no?

The guide is just that a guide. Since every CPU and motherboard are different you may have to deviate from that in order to reach your overclocking goals. You may need to do things such as applying voltage to the CPU NB and/or increase your bus speed to reach higher or it could just be that you reached your limit.

I actually set everything back to auto and started monitoring my voltage and i noticed that on HWMonitor the voltage goes on 1.4+ sometimes underload so it might be why 1.3xx isn't doing it for me, i'll try to go 1.38 and 1.39 and 1.40 just to be make sure the next time.

Also i am pretty sure i went 4.4ghz+ on amd overdrive before with all settings set to auto so i should be able to get it manually.

If your temps are reaching that level you probably need to reapply the thermal paste. You shouldn't be getting that high with the 212 Evo with those numbers. Air is probably getting between the CPU and heatsink. On a different note, I have cranked my voltage up and haven't been able to overclock past 4.2 myself on my 8350. I know I must be doing something wrong.
