I have a HP probook 4535s (AMD) with windows 7 and all windows updates (minus the nag update for win10) and all device drivers up to date (I have not flashed the bios to the latest version as I tend to brick computers for some reason via bios flashes)
I have 4 usb ports, 3 of them 2.0 and 1 of them 3.0 ... I have a 3.0 16gb flash drive and I can't squeeze any more than 2.0 speeds from it.
I have seen a few posts regarding this issue, unfortunately the fixes are to install device drivers (such as the one for intel) that are not compatible with my system.
All usb ports work, but at 2.0 speeds. I have noticed the 3.0 port is slightly higher but only by a small margin (2.0 ports write at about 96 Mbits and read at 250 Mbits... 3.0 port writes at 99 Mbits and reads at 293 Mbits) I tested this with all ports several times with a 200 MB file, and a 1 GB file and these numbers are very consistent.
I also tested this with Ubuntu and while I don't have a speed testing program, it seems to be the same
any ideas?
