I have a Dell Inspiron M5110 laptop with Windows 7 64-bit. I am trying to optimize it for audio performance with my DAW software Sonar X3. One thing I am told to do is to disable CPU throttling in the BIOS. But I can't find it anywhere in any of the BIOS settings. Where do I disable CPU throttling in the BIOS of an M5110 Inspiron laptop?

Your cpu will only throttle itself if its too hot. It throttles itself down to preserve temperature. If it didnt throttle down, your cpu would literally fry its own circuits. Even on a desktop, thermal throttling is a good thing for a cpu and should never be changed (i dont think you can anyway). If your cpu is thermal throttling, look at buying a cooling pad since your on a laptop. Instead of removing the throttle, lower your temps.

The answer is above you just have to read lol...since your on a laptop the only thing you really can do is clean out dust really good and buy yourself a cooling pad to sit your laptop on
