Was this issue ever resolved?

I'm having exactly the same symptoms. I'm suspecting the PSU myself, but wouldn appreciate a second opinion. System is newly built, around 14 days ago. Problem wasn't apparent to begin with, but is more then likely down to not being used for anything high load such as gaming for the first week. PSU is a Corsair CX500m, above the 307w required for build, and is 80+ Bronze rated.

Noticed a question about overheating aimed at OP.

My scenario is an instant cut off when high PSU load is exerted. The fastest way to acheive this is to put strain on GPU of course as this draws the majority of power, which lead me to belive that was the fault originally. However, I can run the system all day with a medium load, even stressing CPU/RAM. I can even apply a slight load to GPU, as long as its nothing the GPU would really have to work for.

To eliminate the GPU as a problem I pushed the stress testing on the CPU as far as I could and got it to repeat without doing anything that requires the GPU.

All throughout I've not had exceedingly high temp, as I've been monitoring everything.

Also, to clarify, PC hard reboots, dropping all power for a few seconds (PSU, Case fans, power to board etc all halted) and then powers back up. There is no BSOD, as the power fully interrupts akin to shutting it off at the outlet - only it comes back on a few seconds after

What are the tempts when you run it at load of the CPU and GPU? I know you said they aren't overheating, but I would still like to know the temps...cuz it sounds like it is overheating.
