why do i have multiple partitions in my :C drive?

i installed windows 8.1 and upgraded to windows 10 a while back. but my hard drive has multiple partitons and i cant format them or delete them. could this maybe be the windows boot manager? or some important windows file hiding in there or something?

But....Open Disk Management
On the drive in question, from left to right, what are the partitions and their labels and sizes?

can u tell me maybe how i can extend volume? and can i delete the partition or does the partition have an important file in it?

Until we can see exactly what partitions are in there, any recommendations of what to do would be highly dangerous.
