Home Computing Privacy Theory & Suggestions

I'm quite keen on privacy theory and was wondering what the community thinks are some of the 'best practices' for setting up a private PC experience nowadays.

So far I've been running a private home laptop with:

- Archlinux on an encrypted drive
- Firefox modded to disable typical trackers & invasive scripts
- VPN connection
- TOR

I know you can carry around something like bootable TAILS for privacy, but for this thread I'm really trying to focus on a home-machine setup that isn't a bootable live OS.

What are some of your favorite things to do to keep your privacy secure nowadays?

Well, if you want to be ultra private, one thing that would be fun is to use veracrypt. The cool thing with veracrypt is that you can have both a dummy OS and your real OS which is hidden in the drive.

If you enter one password, it will enter the dummy OS, if you enter the other PW for the hidden OS, it will launch that OS. It's designed so if somebody kidnaps you and wants your real info, you just enter the dummy PW and they won't think twice that there is a hidden OS.

Pretty cool stuff, but overkill lol.
