Hey guys. I am pretty tech savvy. So you do not have to explain things in huge amounts of detail. I just need a little bit of guidance. I am building my first pc soon. Want to finish it by the new year. Here are the components that I have chosen. I will write "Decided" on components I am not taking suggestions on as I have concluded they are what I want for sure.

-ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VIII HERO LGA 1151 Intel Z170 MOBO-Up for debate
-In Win 805( I know it is expensive but I instantly fell in love with this case.) Black/red edition- Decided
Intel I5-6600k processor- Decided( Pretty much the standard processor to go with, not many options)
Corsair Hydroseries H100i cpu cooler- Up for debate
Corsair Vengeance LPK series DDR4-2133 Red (2x4gb) memory- Up for debate
Either Intel 750 series pci express 400gb SSD or Samsung 850 evo 250gb ssd- Up for debate
Either Nvidia Geforce Gtx 970 or AMD Radeon R9 390- Up for debate
Corsair RMx series Rm650x 80plus gold fully modular power supply- Up for debate
Corsair Air Series AF120 Quiet Edition High Airflow 120mm Fan( 3 of them, 1 for back of case, 2 for bottom of case where there are optional fan slots if you take off harddrive tray)- Up for debate
Corsair Air Series AF120 LED Red Quiet Edition High Airflow 120mm Fan -( 2 of them to replace the fans on the hydroseries. This makes the build look insanely cool because the led's shine through the front of the case in a hex pattern)- Up for debate
Corsair Strafe Cherry Mx Brown mechanical keyboard( Up for debate, I want a keyboard that has vivid LED lighting, the lighting on the k70 is not very bright. I would prefer blue switches but I cannot find one with good led backlighting.

I already have these parts and am loving them.
Samsung S24D590PL 24 inch 1080p monitor( perfect balance of color accuracy and response time)
Logitech g502 proteus core mouse
Steelseries mouse pad

Here is what I need help with. I have a lot of questions. Is this an overkill build? Are any particular components overkill? R9 390 vs gtx 970. Which one is more future proof? I want to be able to max games at 1080p for as long as possible. And which brand and cooler should I go with. This is a very red build as you have probably guessed. But there are no red cards really besides the msi and asus ones and I do not like the look of those. I am leaning towards the gigabyte windforce because of good reviews and I like the leds on the side. Is that
PCI express SSD overkill? Will it be noticably faster than the 850 evo? Is it worth it to Raid 0 the evos? Is there another mobo you guys would recommend? Is there any different fans you guys would recommend? Is that power supply too nice? I have heard a quality power supply is a must with high quality components. This particular one is very quiet as well. Is there any ram you would recommend? Or a different cpu cooler? Things to think about for this build. Priority number one for me is stability. I do not want a pc that bluescreens or components fail or i have to constantly fix things. That is the first priority. Second priority is looks. I am going for a ROG themed red look. Third is for it to be quiet and have optimal airflow. I need help with fan orientation and stuff like that as well. I need help with the finishing touches of the build. Are there any ROG themed accesories I could put on the inside? Would sleeving the power cables and stuff like that red add to the look? Is there an led strip you guys recommend? I want one that illuminates the whole inside of the build dark red. It does not need to change color. It has to be bright enough to shine through tempered glass.

A seperate thing I need advice on. As you can tell, this is an expensive build. I am planning on selling my current pc to help pay for it. Here is what it is. I got it for christmas in 2011 but I have vastly updated it.
Lenovo Ideacentre K330. (It cost 900 when i got it)
Intel I5 2300 cpu
Stock cpu cooler and fans
Corsair CX 500 watt power supply
Sapphire Radeon Dual x R9 270
8gb ddr3 ram
ocz 120gb ssd
1tb hard drive- 7200 speed
DVD burner
I also have an alienware backlit keyboard and a deathadder 2011 mouse.

What I need to know

How much should I ask for this system? It is all in very good condition. Is it worth it trying to sell it on ebay and if so is it worth it to throw in the mouse and keyboard with it?

I am sorry for all the questions guys but I greatly appreciate your help

In some ways you can argue its all overkill . All premium products . But if you8 like it and can afford it then you might as well .

I would probably buy faster RAM 2800 or 3000 MHz . If that meant not buying all those fans then that would be fine . Cooling will not be a problem .

Since you are staying at 1080p then the GTX 970 is the better choice . Its very competitive with the 390 and uses less power . At higher resolutions then I'd always take the 390
