Hi,

I've run into a problem which is really starting to annoy me with my computer.

I built my rig over a year ago, put 8.1 on it. Occasionally had some problems with the computer waking up in the middle of the night but they went away (solved by just unplugging the Ethernet). Unfortunately, they've returned.

Here's what I've done:

-Checked powercfg -lastwake in command prompt; no devices are listed.
-In event logs, the wake source is unknown
-Gone into scheduled maintenance, disabled that.
-Disabled the network device from being able to wake the computer
-Disabled every single wake timer I could find (re-checked this like 30 times)
-The only devices that can wake the computer is the keyboard and laptop (According to command prompt)
-Unplugged the ethernet cable every time the computer goes to sleep.

I know it's not the mouse/keyboard waking the computer, as when I turn the display on when the computer "wakes" itself, it says no signal (I'm using a TV as a monitor). Every time I wake the computer using the mouse/keyboard, there's a signal going to the TV

Here's what I do know:

-In event logs, the intel Management Interface driver starts right before the computer wakes up
-Right after the IMID starts up, an "NvStreamKMS" from, NVIDIA keeps installing. This has happened every single time.

Any ideas? I can't go to sleep because the computer makes a really loud noise when it wakes, which ends up waking me up.

Solution
The most common reason for it is usually the Samsung Magician software, but it could also be just about any software that has administrative privileges.

Also, if you want to prevent nvstream, you have to disable it manually from services.msc, but it will disable Shield streaming if you use it. You can also uninstall geforce experience and that should also work.
