installed new graphics card and computer wont boot up

hi i brought a new graphics card (gt 740 2gb) to replace my old nvidea 605 when i install the new card the computer will not boot up it just beeps....then eventually goes to a black screen with a flashing curser.....but if i put the old card back in it boots up fine....is it a faulty card?

just tryed the card in a different system works fine
turns out the mother board doesnt accept new graphics cards somthing about warrenty abuse? meh....wont be buying acer again lol cheers for help =P
