i am about buying a GTX 970 but i have HEC 500 Watt Rapter PSU with 2x 6pin and the GTX 970 requires 8 pin so iam thinking to do a 2x 6 pin to 8 pin cable and does the PSU can handle the 970 ?

my pc :

i3 540 3.06gh
H55m-USB3
3x HDD WD 500g
6g ram
HEC 500 WP

I might last that long or it could run a couple minutes and fry the whole rig. If you want to gamble the choice is yours.

the seller says that it would be fine because the 12v output is 32A and the card require 30A ..still confused because i bought this PSU for the same price as OCZ StealthxStream 600w !

and how about the efficiency for this HEC model..will it handle it under medium pressure ?

well..here's the updates..i bought the 970 and plugged it in with 6 pin to 8 pin ( 7 pins only actually ) and the light LED turned white which indicated a successful plug in for the gtx 970 and tested it for 3 days and TDP max was 104%~ and max Temp 73c and FPS are good with ultra settings for games like :

saints row iv
project cars
watch dogs

and few other games i dont remember so after all i think it could handle it well actually..it was risky but now i know and others who have the same PSU will know ..thx mousemonkey and bignastyid ;)
