I am planning a build, and I have a question regarding the ASUS Strix 980ti cards. Ultimately I want to have two of these cards running in SLI, although I'm not sure when I will be adding a second card (bank account will dictate that XD).
So in terms of performance. What benefits will I see in buying the DC3OC version versus getting the regular DC3 version? The price gap isn't much of a concern to me, as it's only $30 more for the DC3OC, and considering the price of each card, that's sort of moot.
In terms of longevity, and the SLI upgrade in the future. What kinds of benefits will I see with 2 DC3OCs running in SLI vs. 2 DC3s running in SLI?
I've been having trouble finding a straight comparison between the two cards, and I will be building by the end of this week. Newegg has been out of stock of the DC3OC for some time now, and I'm feeling the itch to get building. Would I regret buying the DC3 because of the circumstances, or what?
Any other insights you might have about these two cards would certainly be appreciated!
Please try to keep this as objective as possible and keep the discussion down to specs and numbers. Thanks!
