I'm looking at these two options:

1. http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-Ballistix-PC3-12800-BLS2KIT4G3D1609DS1S00-BLS2CP4G3D1609DS1S00/dp/B006WAGGUK/ref=pd_bxgy_147_img_y#Ask

2. http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-Ballistix-PC3-12800-BLS2KIT4G3D1609DS1S00-BLS2CP4G3D1609DS1S00/dp/B006WAGGUK/ref=pd_bxgy_147_img_y

They are both about the same price, and my motherboard only supports 1600 MHz..
Motherboard specs: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4713#sp

Does the HyperX Fury downscale the timing to CL9 when it goes down to 1600 MHz? If not, should I go for the Crucial, or stick with the Fury for possible future use at the 1866 MHz?

Thanks!

Solution
The 1866/10 will show slightly better performance than the 1600/9. With the Fury it will use PnP to set itself up to the highest data rate it can run, which in part will depend on the CPU used and the BIOS. From there you can make manual adjustments
