Whenever I turn on SLI then turn my computer off and back on, it fails to boot, it loads the BIOS and gets to the Windows loading screen but then after loading for about 2 minutes the screen either goes black or says there is no input.
I have two EVGA GTX 960 SSC 4GB cards and both work fine, the SLI doesnt seem to fail after activation and use, only when restarting the computer. I have tested both independantly and I have checked and double-checked the SLI bridge connection as well as the power consumption so I do not think it is a hardware issue related to these things.
I know that drivers with SLI can be finicky and Windows 10 doesn't play nice. My short term solution to the problem is using the reset function, wiping my C: drive and re-installing Windows. Since that seems to help I postulate that the issue is a software issue, though I am not sure what.
My Specs:
OS: Windows 10 Home
Motherboard: MSI 970 Gaming
GPU(s): EVGA SSC GTX 960 4GB x2
CPU: AMD FX 8350
DRAM: Crucial Ballistix 2x4GB
PSU: Thermaltake 750W ToughPower Pro Gold
None of this is OC'd and it has standard fan cooling, though OpenHardwareMonitor shows no heat issues when I am going full throttle so I dont think it could be that.
I swear if it isn't one issue it is another. Hopefully this will be a simple enough fix, and any help is greatly appreciated.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: So my friend said updating the drivers may be of help, so I updated my graphics drivers, turned on SLI, and shut off my computer for the night. Today I turned it on, and it made it to the desktop for maybe 45 seconds and then my TV said No Signal and my PC's power tripped
