Hi guys, a question that in sure that as usual you guys will know the answer to; how do I have different games on different drives using steam?

I looked online and the answers I was seeing was not working for me, anytime I try to create a folder inside of my second drive and install a game from steam into there, it doesn't let me. I have 2 drives, a 256gb SSD for main games and OS and 1tb SSD for all the other games. But at the current moment in time, the 1tb is just sitting pretty because I don't know how to install games onto it.

I have noticed this same issue.

I was not downloading anything, this seems like a "feature".

I added me new ssd, my STEAM was installed in my C drive with Windows right, that started getting full so i wanted more space.

It Allowed me to do D:\ steamlibrary folder, but not specificly chosen folder.

I wanted D:\Games\Steam\

So my drive would be kept neat, and not every launcher to has its own folder, that will create issues overtime.

I got it to my desired folder just by reinstalling the whol dmn thing.

Every other launcher allows me to choose the frikkin install folder i want, this is not ok by my standards,
in the future i always install STEAM into secondary SSD, and not my main SSD.

Steam absolutely lets you designate other drives to install to. You can even select some other drive as the default.
Very recently, I think they changed things a little.

Plus, this is a 7 year old thread.
