I'm looking to buy parts for a $1500 Desktop, monitor needed.

I'm looking to get the parts over time, over the course of 3-4months.

Looking for a widescreen 144hz monitor at least, or even 120hz works.

Min Budget: $1500
Max Budget: $1800

Thank you!

Looking to game on the latest games like GTA5 and others.

The newer Zotac's are very high quality GPUs and are not liek what they used to be. It is also a very high factory clocked GPU so he gets a large performance boost out of the box. It also has very nice GPU cooling.

Ok,
Last generation CPU. I guess if you want to save money but why would he if he has up to $1800
Micro ATX form factor.
Fury X in a crappy MicroATX case. Probably no room for the watercooler
Over Price PSU. I dont think the case will even have room for that.
Extremely overpriced monitor.
Horrible SSD
I am not trying to be mean or anything here, but it is crucial that a good build is suggested because if someone suggests something to an OP (who may or may not know anything) and they just go ahead and build a crappy build.

We're all here to learn on Tom's.
Take this as a learning experience.

I would still take that CPU over the newer one, having tried both. I think the Haswell offers better performance-to-value ratio.
Nothing wrong with Micro ATX.....and long as you've made sure it all fits. Fury X's are shorter at 195mm, and this case can fit a card up to 330mm. Should be plenty of room (and given that it has 4x 120mm fan slots, I'm not concerned about the AIO)
You get what you pay for for the monitor though....it's FreeSync at 1440p and 144hz. I have three of them in EyeFinity with two Fury X's, and they're quite nice.
The SSD isn't a fan-favorite, but it isn't 'horrible'. I bought a case of these for workstation upgrades, and they all perform as expected.

Thank you for your opinions though.
