No, it doesn't work like that.
2 ways forward...clone or clean install
Cloning - you use one of the current tools to clone the current drive to the new SSD. This depends on a couple of conditions.
A. What size is the new SSD?
B. What is the total used space on the current drive?
A must be larger than B for this to work.
Cloning usually works. Usually.
Clean install - More work, but it always works. You'll need your install media and the OS license key. As well as all the install files for your applications.
