Check BIOS revison before installing motherboard?

Is there a way to check the BIOS revison of a motherboard before intalling it (like in the manual or on the motherboard itself)? I'm asking cause my 4690K, which i havn't installed on the Asus Z97-AR yet, is supported from BIOS revision "1008" and up.

Unless there is a sticker on the box for the motherboard, there really isn't a way. There is always some risk. But the 1008 BIOS has been available for over a year. Unless you purchase from a vendor with very little inventory turnover you shouldn't have any problem.

I bought it from a big popular electronics store last Saturday, September 27th.
