How bad is a Corsair CX PSU, really?

Solution
Their not terrible but not very good either, low temperature rating, low quality fan, only a 3 year warranty for a reason, usually you can buy a higher quality power supply for the same price. If you were building a low budget PC then it would be what to use since you can often get one at a low price including rebates. Other than that if your building a nice PC why cheap out their when for 10 more bucks or so you can buy a higher quality PSU.

THe capacitors qualities are very bad and degradable. Worse it;'s rated at 85 degrees. Many case like very early death of PSU. The performance it self quite good. I used CX500 and feel both satisfied and not

It's because they are overpriced. I would totally respect if they were $30 range, but for instance the 600W CX I see as $65 even $70 at times. Most people see these power supplies as the first result on Amazon, Newegg, etc. and immediately think they must be good. For $70 you can get a much better Seasonic or Supernova B2.
