Recently I've brought an External HDD (Seagate 1TB) and stored roughly about 300GB of data on it. Problem was while I was transferring some music from the HDD to my PC, my PC crashed (Kernel_failure or something like that) and after I rebooted it, my PC refuses to show my hdd! I tried looking through the bios but the bios page freezes whenever I insert the hdd and the driver is still installed. And I'm pretty sure it's not a power problem for I was using the same port before the incident. Please guys any help would appreciated

Hi there TheGintama6,

This doesn't sound like a driver related issue to me.
Have you tried using a different cable? In case you haven't, you can try that.
If the issue persists, I would say that there is something wrong with the enclosure or the HDD itself.
In that case, you can do several things:
- Just RMA the drive in case it is under warranty.
- If the data stored on it is really important, you will need to contact a data recovery company.

I guess you can check the Ubuntu Live CD approach out: Yet, in case there is physically wrong with the HDD, this will not work: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/267999-32-recover-data-mode
