Windows 10 not installing 64-bit only 32-bit

Im new here so sorry if this is an amateur mistake.
I recently bought and set up a new computer with intel 4690 processor and msi z97 motherboard.
The hardware all works perfectly but when it comes to installing windows it only installs the 32bit version. I tried many different versions of the iso file but each one is installing the 32bit even when it says x86 version. Is there anything I have to do or something I am not doing right?
Oh and I have 12gb of ram so I do need the x86 version.

Are you using a disc or the iso file? You need the 64 bit disc to install the 64 bit version (just starting with the basics)

x86 version means it is a 32 bit.
You have to get a x64 for your 64 bit Windows 10.

is x64 only for windows 10? When I was using windows 7 it noted it was x86.
Im using an iso on a flash drive that's formated

Then your Win7 was also 32 bit.
During Installation if you only find x86 not x64 then the Windows Disk that you use to make Bootable USB is also packed with 32 bit windows.

Correct, x86 is the 32-bit version. You need the x64 install.

So I tried doing that but it would not let me install it onto my hard drive. No matter which partition of the hard drive i selected "next" would not highlight. Do I need to format the hard drive?

I found out that I do have to format the hard drive however I cannot get rid of the partitions on the hard drive. Could anyone let me know of a programme that could wipe the hard drive so that I can format it for windows 10?

You don't need a software for deleting the partition or formating the hard drive.
Both options are available in Windows Installation process.

You can find that "Delete" / "Format" options, when there is a option for the selection of particular partition for Windows.
