I need a new hard drive for my PC. I have a 250GB one atm but I am running out of space for my games. I want a fast one and only 1 or 2TB and under 100$. It will only have games on it because my OS is on an SSD and I don't do anything besides gaming on this PC. Can someone please tell me what the fastest one is?

Solution
The Seagate 7200.14 1TB and WD Blue 1TB both have about 200mb/s read and write, I would go WD though, seagates are known to have the highest failure rates.

Yeah I had a 1TB Seagate Baracuda when I first built the PC but it died after one day so I had to get the 250GB one from my neighbor

I've had my 3 TB Seagate Barracuda HDD for more than 2 years now, no problems or hiccups. I also have a 4TB Seagate external backup drive, I'm not keen on the software but I've accidentally dropped it a few times and it still holds up. I'm not a Seagate fanboy really but I used to have WD's and had failures on those.

In the end I think it's a bit of a lottery. It's like the old wisdom when buying a car, never buy one built on a Monday or Friday, Monday the workers have hangovers, Friday they can't wait to get out of there and are in a rush. Too bad we can't get the day of the week build data on things other than cars huh?

I have 3 active seagates as well, one being 8 years old and still runs (pretty slow compared to current tech, but still functions as my backup drive). I'm just basing my statement on the broader scales like statistics from organizations that torture test thousands of these drives yearly.
