I was running Windows 10 on my computer just fine when suddenly it froze. I held the power button to force a shut down. When it started I got past the log in screen to the desktop but the little blue circle kept spinning, the mouse movements were lagging and i couldn't open the start menu or any files on my desktop. The disk light on my tower was contineously lit, like it was when the computer initially froze, signifying either that the dusk was running at full speed or that the light was just stuck.

Again I had to do a force shut down , unplugged all peripherals and now when it starts up, after the motherboard splash screen, it automatically attempts to repair and diagnose problems. It does this unsuccessfully.

Restarting in safe mode also doesnt work since it will also continously spin. This has me worried that it could be a hardware problem, but im no expert.

Finally, while in recovery options mode at start up (not running from disc, but from main HD), i chose to run a dskchk on my main drive and a few seconds in I got a BSOD.

Any advise would be appreciated.
