Questions regarding my budget gaming PC

Hey,

I recently got a budget gaming PC as a birthday gift and have some questions regarding it:

1) I've checked temps and have seen that the CPU temp seems insanely high according to Speccy - fluctuates between 88-110c. Checked AMD overdrive and that reports a thermal margin of around 17-27c (varies a lot). BIOS reports readings of 75-80c-ish when I select "PC Health status" - should I be concerned about this?

2) Speccy is also reporting that Cores 2 and 3 are at half their stock speed (sitting at 1.7GHz), cores 0 and 1 are at 3.7GHz. What's this about? I've selected "high performance", turned off AMD cool 'n' quiet and C6 in the BIOs.

3) BIOs says the RAM frequency is at 1600MHz, but speccy is saying it's at 804mhz in single-channel mode. Another incorrect reading or something to be concerned about? Manufacterer advertised RAM to be 1600MHz.

Specs of this PC:

Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1
AMD Athlon X4 860K @ 3.7GHz
8.00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 804MHz (this is what speccy says)
Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. F2A68HM-HD2 motherboard
2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti (MSI)
931GB TOSHIBA DT01ACA100 ATA Device

You're well on your way to learning about PCs!
Temps are fine, 110C is pretty hot but i'd guess you're closer to 80. Some of those sensors aren't exactly accurate. On an atholon i wouldn't worry; its probably not even capable of melting itself!

Cores 2 and 3 are being throttled due to power savings, when you need them they will spike back up.

Do you have even number of ram sticks? 1600 is the dual channel speed, but the ram itself will always register at half that on speccy, so that's totally normal; just double the result.

Thanks for the reply. According to speccy, it's just one 8gb stick (by Team Group Inc). It's registering on Speccy as 800MHz on SINGLE channel mode, rather than dual. BIOs says the memory frequency is 1600MHz, so I'm guessing it's an incorrect reading by the software. Though, still needed to clarify :p

Is there any way to force core 2 and 3 to use more clock speed?

While I'm not expecting insane results from this system, I just want to make sure it's not going to fry itself or decrease in performance because of heating issues.

Hmm disabled amd turbo core, as well as other power saving options, yet Speccy still reporting cores 2 and 3 to be at 1.7GHz whereas cores 0 and 1 are at 3.7ghz.

Resource monitor says maximum frequency (for CPU) is at 100%

I don't even know :S
