The B85 chipset does not support Haswell refresh processors, so there is no guarantee it will work. However, my MSI H81M-E33 does happen to work with my Haswell refresh CPU, but there are minor issues such as restarting the computer not working. I recommend you buy an H97 motherboard or a normal Haswell processor, because if it does not work you're out of luck, and you may not be able to update (my BIOS update freezes on me).

Sometimes you cannot determine though. My motherboard that I bought in August of 2014 still had a BIOS version from January of 2013.

would the MSI H97M-E35 be better for compatability i just want the cpu and the motherboard to work as soon as i conect them abd put it in the case not to mess on updating.

If you go with the older 4130, it will certainly work.

If you are buying in the US (or any other main-stream market) from a reputable, high-volume retailer, they will be selling modern boards with the latest BIOS. (as opposed to last-chance clearance deals, or very low-volume retailers who may have very old stock on the shelves)

I admit to having an i3 4130 lying around, 'just in case'. I have yet to use it for this purpose.
