Modifying an AMD Radeon R9 290X to the FirePro equivalent in Linux

Hello, I am running Xubuntu 14.04 with an AMD Radeon R9 290X, and I am wondering how to modify the card's firmware or hardware to run as its FirePro equivalent; the FirePro W8100 and W9100. I know that running FirePro drivers will not increase gaming performance, but the FirePro drivers tend to be less buggy than those for Radeon cards.
In addition, I know that the latest Nvidia cards use resistors to denote weather the GPU will run as a GeForce or Quadro. Does AMD use a similar solution to denote the difference between Radeon and FirePro, or is that coded into the card's firmware?

Solution
Flashing a new BIOS (even you could even find a W9100 BIOS that is modded to work with the R9 290x) would be even more trouble-prone than just dealing with "buggy" drivers in the first place. I say "buggy" because bugs are far in between with AMD drivers nowadays...
