Hello its Mo, whats up

I have a friend whos tennents left behind a corsair dominator DDR3-1600MHz 4 gig stick

This stick was previously part of a group of 3 sticks to add up to 12 but the tennants only left behind one stick.

I have two sticks of G.Skill 1600Mhz 4gig stick DDR3 in my pc right now

If i add this new stick will the system run fine with 12 gigs of memory?

Im sorry if i dont know what im talking about, i dont think i do but that is why i am asking.

I really appreciate any replies and anyone that tries to deal with me.

Any time you mix DRAM, even sets of the same exact model it can be and often is problematic, simply look through the forums, it's full of threads of people trying to mix sticks from different packages. Can read more in my article, look at Fiction, Item 2, here:

So what happens if i try this an it fails?
Could it fry my motherboard, corrupt my ram, break something? Corrupt my HDD?

And could i change the voltage easily with windows 8.1? Should I?

And the timings, what will happen if they are off? What is timings?

It normally isn't going to hurt anything, other than maybe your pocket, might have return mailing fees or travel to a store, many charge restocking fees on returned items, some don't even give refunds. Then possible time lost if you need the DRAM. You can change timings of the DRAM and voltages to try and get them to play if they have problems in the BIOS of the rig, unless it's a prebuilt, most all pre-builts have locked BIOSs that you can't make changes in

Nope, this RAM is free, i got it as a gift from a friend like i said earlier.

If it doesnt boot how will i get my ram sticks in there at the same time to configure the timings.
Is there a guide to editing timings and voltages for ram?

Oh and my pc is new, i custom built it.
