Will a R9 390X bottleneck an FX6350?

Will it be a bottleneck? Yes, it will. How much of a bottleneck, though- in some games it will be bad, some fine. At higher resolutions and using DX12 it won't make so much of a difference. You probably won't benefit from going to an FX-8350. You might see a benefit from going to an i5, but is it as much as the benefit from getting an R9 390X? Unless you are doing heavily CPU dependent work/gaming the R9 will improve performance more than an i5.

Until AMD comes out with a new line of CPUs (and even then, will want to wait and see how reviews come in, don't count on the ads that will be put out by AMD, remeber how Bulldozer was suppose to be so good? and then the 8350 was suppose to be so much better than IB and was barely a match for SB?) which are proven to be competitive, best bet would be to look to an i5 or i7

Even had that happened I doubt it would have made much difference, and it was apparent long before the release of Win8 that it wouldn't happen. I was on the beta from the beginning and Steve Ballmer was more interested in the 'look' and portability rather than in PC performance, which is but one reason it was a failure, (in the minds of most) for PCs
