Would also recommend getting a GTX960. Friend of mine is also playing at 1600x900 and got a 960 a few weeks ago and it works pretty good. He can max out The Witcher 3 and MGS V at that resolution with his MSI GTX 960.
Your CPU should have absolutely no problems with that card.

I'd say go for the 960. :)

It's not a game it's a benchmark, and it's the very first software using asynchronous shaders + DX12 in a pc environment.
But that has nothing to do with DX12 itself and games that will be able to make use of DX12.

It's not a bang up to date card, but to give you an idea of comparable performance. I was using an R9 280x in my rig and I have a 1650x1080 screen. I was testing an R7 265 2gb and discovered that I could achieve similar performance with some minor tweaks. So I ended up selling my 280 and using the 265 as until I can afford a better screen there was no point using the 280x.

So food for thought, if you have no plans of changing your screen anytime soon then maybe look at the R7 370 or GTX 950 as mentioned above. A more powerful card would likely be a waste on that screen.
