I've asked about upgrading my PC before, and because of the GPU being integrated, was told, in short, its better to start from scratch. I bought the PC sometime ago, (not knowing about what I do now) was wondering if I could remove the CPU/GPU and start over using the MOBO and RAM it came with?

This was the PC I purchased was P6-2136

The link above list compatible upgrades, but I was wondering if it would be worth it (Saves a case, MOBO and RAM, etc for the poor guy I am)

Solution
While it may be possible, it is often not worth the effort.
The board will be flashed with an HP BIOS. These BIOSs are all locked up and provide no advanced user options. It is also difficult to predict if they will support a particular CPU. I have on more than one occasion flashed a different bios onto HP mobos in order to expand their support, but i have also failed numerous times as well.

This is an APU based system, where there is an integrated graphics card in the CPU, this is not ideal for gaming at all.

The ram can certainly be saved. But i wouldn't invest any additional funds into an FM2 based board.
