Hey guys I just started my build yesterday and tried to post before I started adding components to the case and it won't. I can't even seem to get the PSU fan to spin or get any lights to turn on on the MB or GPU.

Pretty much think I connected everything i needed to, here is a breakdown of what I remember,

1. When posting I had the MB on it's box, CPU installed, Ram installed (2 8GB sticks), the Cooler installed (Hyper Master 212), and then the GPU was seated as well.
2. Plugged in the PSU attached 24pin to Mb and then the 4x4 or 8-pin connector to CPU spot on MB.
3. Plugged in cooler fan to cpu fan.
4. Plugged in both the 6pin and 8pin connectors on the GPU to the PSU.
5. Attempted to do the quick "screw-driver connect" for the boot and nothing happened.

later, I ended up putting things in the case to see if I could get the power switch on the case to work and it didn't light up or work. I am at work right now, but am trying to get some trouble shooting tips and stuff for when I get home so I can test it out and try and get it to work.

Solution
When home, check if the PSU's switch is on. If yes, try testing it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FWXgQSokF4
See if a fan connected to it does spin.
If it does, try reconnecting again the 24 pin power cable only to the motherboard, a case fan and starting the board.
See if the fan does spin.
If it doesn't, the board might be defective.

It was originally going to be an overclock build, then I dropped the processor to save money and decided to keep that MB in case I feel like wanting to overclock in the future and would just buy the processor instead of completely revamping my build and still assume people were telling me it would all still be compatible. Gotta remember on my first build so did research but not nearly enough to know everything at this time.. Plus the fan was for the extra cooling do to my case only coming with two fans and just that added cooling ability, not really that big of a deal when it's cheap and on sale and doesn't hurt the build
