So I've just built a nice gaming rig and I picked up one of the Intel 750 NVMe SSDs. After building, installing, and configuring everything I discovered that I had neglected to flash my BIOS before installing Windows on the Intel 750 (I'm using an ASUS X99-A/3.1 motherboard) and it appeared I was getting only about 550-600mbps write speed on the hard drive. I subsequently read that in order to fully exploit the nvme protocol and its speed on the boot drive I should have flashed BIOS before installing Windows.
My question is, now that I have flashed BIOS, would simply doing a full reset of Windows on the drive make NVMe work, or do I need to re-start from scratch? Full specs if it helps:
Intel 5820k I7 @ 3.3 ghz
Asus X99-A/ 3.1 motherboard
16 GB Corsair DDR4 2400 RAM
nVidia 980 Ti
Intel 750 400 GB SSD
Seagate 1 TB 7200RPM HDD
Thanks in advance for the help; I bought the drive for performance, so I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it fully functional!
