Looking to get a Intel Xeon E3-1265L vs i 5 2400

Intel Xeon E3-1265L TCase emp is 56 C degree compared to i5 2400 72 C

My Cab is Air cooled and i game for hours at times so which should i go with? Does the lower Tcase mean the xeon will shut down at 56C

Hello

Yes it will probably shutdown at 56 C then. But if I might make a recommendation then get the i5. In general server CPUs are not that great for gaming. Rather go for the i5 or even go for a faster i5 for the same price.

It will not shut itself down at 56°C, take a look at this:

If you have a somewhat decent motherboard, you can use the enhanced turbo feature and make the xeon to run at 3.5GHz all the time.
