Hi all,

Start off with my specs:

Graphics card: XFX r9 270a 2gb
cpu: amd fx 6300 6 core
psu : xfx 550 wat
8gb ram
Windows 7

About 3 days ago i was prompt with a update to the new catalyst update 15.7.1 so i updated it. Since then I have had noting but trouble when i try to game about 2 minutes - 15 minutes my screen flickers changes different colors like it lags best way to explain it is it feels like a bad overclock, sometimes i will just tab and end process of the game (CS:GO) but if i leave it my pc will crash, or I will get bsod. But sometimes if i end the process my pc could still crash after 10 minutes of just idling

The past two days I have been trying to figure out what was happening here is everything I have tryed: Took apart my pc 6-7 times cleaned dust made sure notating came lose the first time I done this cleaned the dust i got 4 hours gaming out of it then the problems came back. I have refitted my ram uninstalled the gpu drivers to older version, Reset bios ( as i thought i might of overclocked something when i first built it) Im running out of ideas

The games I played seem to run ok like fps 160 on cs:go all normal no lag then it just starts freezing black screening etc. This pc has been running fine for 2 years I have really hit a wall I do not know what else to troubleshoot so hopefully someone can shed some light onto my situation

Sounds like a software problem.

Run CCleaner and do a clean up. Then use Ccleaner's registry fix. Make sure that you make a backup of the current registry when Cclearner ask you if you want to save the backup.

Then run the free version of Malwarebytes.

I have tried the cclearner just there would no look.

I will run malware bytes now, Could a virus really cause that must instability to your system ?

Like right now my screen seems to be artifacting after closing down csgo

If i where to boot up and watch YouTube videos 1080p idle etc It would be grand. If i start a game then end the process the flickering continues even idling

I will try what you said about turning graphics down will post results once malware bytes is done scanning

I was thinking that, But is it software or hardware related.. Like i said in my above post it only started when I updated my gpu drivers. But gpu cpu temps are very low so there not overheating

I will update in about 30 mins on how it gos playing with generic driver

Ok the above did not work the problem came back. But i just released i opened msi after burner my gpu is running at 80-90% on csgo which is not a very demanding game.. it seems when the gpu hits 99% the screen flickers and lags and colored lines come up
