BOOTMGR is missing, won't recognize install disc

Hi guys, I'm desperate for help here please.

I have a partitioned 1TB HDD and as of yesterday after trying to run chkdsk on one of the partitions and it dismounting (and I tried to go to drive manager and "activate" that second drive again under what I thought were sound instructions despite windows warning me I shouldn't if I don't have system files on that drive) the computer no longer boots.

As soon as it starts it says BOOTMGR is missing, press Ctrl alt del to restart.

I tried to specifically boot from my win 7 disc so that I could repair the installation but the computer doesn't recognize it as a system disc. I made sure it has a proper boot sequence and goes to the CDROM first in the bios. It says it's not a valid system disc. Just to be sure I borrowed a friends disc to see if maybe there was something wrong with my disc but same results. I have tried disconnecting the HDD completely and booting from the disc. I can hear the CDROM spin and it doesn't seem to do anything for 30+ seconds but eventually says the same thing that its not a valid system disc.

Any advice please guys? I've searched for answers already and haven't found a case like this.

Thank you

I've seen Windows complain that a HD is not a valid system disk. However, I've never seen Windows complain that the installation media was and invalid system disk, but the closest thing I have seen is that the installation media wasn't genuine. Assuming this isn't the case, then, have you tried to install Windows 7 with a USB drive?

I haven't had the opportunity yet to obtain the installation image on a USB yet. If it tries to load from HDD it says bootmgr is missing, and if from CDrom it doesn't recognize any disc as the system disc aka install dis . I've tried to genuine discs (64 and 32 bit install discs), and a copy I had from before. There's no way that all 3 copies are bunk so it has to be something else. The disc does spin though when the disc is inserted so I can't figure it out.
