I have recently purchased a GTX 970 and am trying to install it on a gateway pre fab. \the issue i'm having is a common one i'm finding online, but i am not finding an answer to fix my issue. My computer boots up, but will not get passed the initial bootup. Does a few beeps, and nothing else. The "Solution" i have found is that i can reset my cmos and that should work. However, i cannot find proper information on how to do this. My MOBO is Acer IPISB-VR REV : 1.01. Anyone have anything that can help?

try googling the beep code you get when you try turning it on, that usually tells you whats wrong.
