Is it okay if my GPU hits 100% quite often when gaming?

I've been monitoring my usage and stuff with afterburner and have been playing DirtRally on ultra and my gpu hits 100% a lot of the time. My specs:

GPU: r9 390 8gb
CPU: FX-8350
Mobo: GA-990FXA-UD3 R5
RAM: 8gb ddr3
PSU: XFX XTR 650watt

I get great frame rates so I didn't think my card was struggling or anything. I also have my fan speed up to 100% to keep the gpu cooler so that might have something to do with it. I just got the card which is why I've been checking out the usage and stuff. I just don't want to damage it. I checked my power supply with a calculator and it puts me at 525 so I think I have enough power.

So is this a normal thing?

yup, definitely a normal thing. it's what you want. it means your system is allowing it to work as hard as it is intended. i wouldn't run your fans 100% all the time tho, it could be stealing power from the GPU core, and shouldn't be necessary.

but other than that, you have nothing to worry about, the GPU should be maxed.
